To make life more interesting for us and others, we have decided to publish the life story of each and every framework made by us.
4th part of "the life of a framework" series is here! The frame has acquired its shape only virtually as of now and is looking for its owner! The owner's wishes will also then dictate the finish later on.
Finally, the 4th part of the "life of a framework" series is here! Here you can already see half of the mirror frame done!
3rd part of the "life of a framework" series! In the image - creation in process.
Today we continue on with the second part of the baroque mirror frame life story, this time - more about the the creation of drawing blanks. When ready, the precise drawing and a blank (made by Juris Bondars), it gets is passed forward to the talented carver John Štelcs, who will carve out frame samples. In the pictures - the drawing and the blank.
First part of the series - the story about a baroque mirror frame that is currently in the making.
This framework drew the attention of the master not long after highschool (at the time - Riga Applied Arts School) graduation while copying the pages of a book called Das Deutsche Zimmer, the sole purpose - maintaining them until unknown future. It should be noted that this happened about 35 years ago, but we have kept this page in our shelves until today.
Next stage of development occurred a few years ago when the same book and the framework was found on the Internet, only in better quality. Part of this framework you will see in the next parts, already cut into wood. For now we're publishing two frame pictures - one of them - the now historic one - and the other one - obtained from the archive.
